I strive to be a bold, compassionate, values-based leader and advocate who is dedicated to fostering mental wellness, authentic connection and systemic change. As the co-founder and previous Executive Director of TeensTalk YXE, I worked to create a safe and empowering space for youth impacted by mental health challenges through peer-led sharing circles, caregiver support circles, mental health wellness retreats, community presentations and of course, Taryn’s Pyjama Project.

Through Lumina Collective, I integrate my background in non-profit work, counselling, crisis response and organizational development to help workplaces, teams and leaders build cultures of care, belonging and resilience. My work bridges research, education and lived experience - bringing forward practical strategies and heartfelt insights that inspire real-world transformation.

As a lifelong learner and single parent to two incredible teenagers, two cats and one dog, I try to balance professional commitments with deep family roots and a love for creating spaces where healing, learning and growth intersect. My professional and personal life are guided by compassion, curiosity, connection, and integrity - illuminating the path toward healthier individuals, stronger organizations and more compassionate communities.

When I’m not working or learning, you can find me outside in my yard, or on a hike, adventuring with my teens, serving at my church or snuggled up with my cats.

Core values

Compassion

.

Compassion .

We meet every person, family and organization with empathy, presence and genuine care. Compassion guides how we listen, how we support and how we hold space for the stories people carry. It reminds us that healing happens in relationship - when people feel seen, safe, and honored in their experiences.

Courage

.

Courage .

Healing takes bravery. We walk alongside individuals and systems as they face hard truths, break long-standing patterns and step into new possibilities. Courage fuels the deeper work of growth - choosing honesty over avoidance, change over comfort and alignment over fear. We honor that bravery and help illuminate the path forward.

Innovation

.

Innovation .

We embrace creative, evidence-informed approaches that adapt to the evolving needs of individuals and communities. Innovation means staying curious, integrating diverse perspectives and designing practices that are both grounded and forward-thinking. We believe that meaningful change requires openness, imagination and a willingness to try new pathways.

Integrity

.

Integrity .

Integrity is our foundation. We lead with ethical practice, transparency, and accountability in all we do. This means showing up consistently, honoring boundaries and making decisions that reflect our values - not convenience. Integrity strengthens trust and ensures our work is dependable, responsible and rooted in respect.
